PANDIT DEENDAYAL UPADHAYAYA STUDY CHAIR

Vision:
The vision of the Chair is to promote scholarly studies and extension services based on the ideas and ideals of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Mission:
The mission of the Chair is to conduct appropriate research studies and community engagement programmes to translate the ideas of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya into practical propositions of “Integral Humanism”.

Objectives:
The following are the specific objectives of the Chair:
a) To conduct research to understand the history and philosophy of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya
b) To promote the dissemination of research findings of the Chair through publications and extension lectures.
c) To take up community engagement activities to sensitize the society at large of the significance of the vision and philosophy of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
d) To periodically organize conferences, workshops, seminars, symposiums, special lectures and meets on the themes related to the history, thoughts and vision of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
e) To foster academic contacts within India as well as other countries through exchange of personnel and research findings.
f) To collaborate with Institutions engaged in similar activities in India and abroad with a view to further the aims and objects of the Chair.

Activities of the Chair:
Rani Channamma University through this Chair wishes to pay homage to the great spirit of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya and wishes contribute its might to the process of nation building. The staff working in the chair so far have visited the places such as Ranadi Madar, Belagavi, Deendayal Research Institute, New Delhi, and recently organised an special lecture to commemorate the contributions of Panditji. The Chair under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor has carved out some more activities for the ensuing year that includes visits to villages to undertake community work and to spread the message of Panditji, to build a library for the benefit of the younger generations and to encourage research in the area, construction of museum to collect artefacts of Panditji to be displayed and many such activities which actively engages academic community in the task of nation building.

Proposed Programmes/Activities for the future:
Proposed Programmes/Activities for the future The following are the major programmes/activities proposed to be conducted under the auspice of the Chair:
a) Formulating and implementing various research projects pertaining to the significance and relevance of the life and thoughts of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
b) Publishing valuable literature pertaining to the history, philosophy and vision of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
c) Organizing conferences/seminars/ symposiums/workshops/ lectures/ meets on thoughts and life of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
d) Setting-up a Library with quality literature pertaining to Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
e) Establishing a Museum with paintings and artifacts reflecting the life and thoughts of Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
f) Conducting community engagement activities aimed at sensitizing people regarding the vision and values upheld by Pandit. Deendayal Upadhyaya
g) Creating documentary films on issues pertaining to the ideals of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
h) Applying for and implementing the schemes/programmes of funding agencies such as University Grants Commission which are found to be relevant to the vision of the Chair.
i) Undertaking such other activities that are found to be helpful to realize the vision, aim, and objectives of the Chair.
