SPORTS CELL
Under Rani Channamma University Sports Department, several competitions including Athletic meet were organized throughout the year in different colleges. As of now we have 29 sports and games to be organized yearly for both men and women. Every year teams are selected and sent to participate in the South Zone/All India Inter University Championships.
The Department of Sports started in the year 2011-12 at Rani Channamma University.

Athletics meet is a mega event conducted every year. This event is organized by the colleges which have all the facilities of 400 meters standard track and field events and accommodation facilities for participants and catering facilities etc.
Functions of Dept. Of Sports:
Conducting Physical Directors meetings,
Preparing the sports activities calendar of events for every year
Allotment of organizers ofinter collegiate games.
Conducting the selection trials of different sports and games through various colleges to formulate university teams every year.
Monitoring and controlling the inter collegiate competitions
Formulating committees for selections of different sports and games
Appointing the coaches and manager to accompany the various teams
Acknowledging to manager, coach and players for participating in South Zone / All India Inter University competitions. TA, DA and uniforms are provided to the teams, with concern authorities approval.
Settlement of accounts of inter university teams.
Issuing the University Blue certificates to the players of various games and sports.
Organizing the coaching camps for various teams to improve the performance.
Honoring the medal winners at South Zone and All India Inter University competitions.
Annual report of the sports department.
Financial assistance for organizing inter collegiate competitions.
Collecting the required information for participating in the All India and South Zone Inter University competitions from various colleges.
Reservation of Railway concession tickets conformation for various teams well in advance.
Organizing the Athletics meet Mega event under the supervision of sports department.
Organizing the Post Graduate sports meet every year.
Preparing and maintaining the ground.
