Rani Channamma University, Belagavi

1. About Us

Rani Channamma University was established at Belagavi in the year 2010 by the Government of Karnataka, by upgrading the erstwhile Kittur Rani Channamma Post Graduate Centre at Belagavi, which was established in 1982 by Karnatak University, Dharwad. The main aim of the newly established Rani Channamma University is to provide students hailing from the North Karnataka region access to quality higher education. At present, the Rani Channamma University has its main campus at Vidyasangama, a picturesque landscape of 172 acres located near Bhutaramanhatti, adjacent to the Poona-Bangalore National Highway 4, at a distance of 18 kms from Belagavi City. Its jurisdiction covers Belagavi and Vijayapura districts.

The Department has a long legacy and heritage since its existence as part of Karnatak University, which it inherited and enhanced upon coming under the ambit of the newly instituted Rani Channamma University. The well-qualified and motivated faculty of the department collectively provide a fine blend of expertise and experience for mentoring students. With a wide spectrum of research interests ranging from Combinatorics and Graph Theory, Fluid Dynamics to Algebraic Topology, the faculty at the department undertake rigorous research activities. The curricula provide an all-round perspective of the subject, focusing on the foundational, intuitive, and technical aspects together with applications. The lush green campus, with its vibrant student base and academic ambiance, provides a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research.

Vision

The Department would strive hard to be a leading center of advanced study and research in Mathematics.
