ABOUT: The Department was established in the year 1982 at Gogte College, Belagavi and later shifted to Bhutaramanahatti in the year 1994. It offers Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in Commerce. The Department is emphasising on fostering commerce students as human resources by imparting in-depth knowledge on contemporary business issues. The unique and competitive pedagogy of the Department focuses on conceptual learning and analytical skills along with personal, spiritual and social progress of the students. The Department always stands to support the students in their endeavours to be innovative and competent entrepreneurs. The Department produced more than 2500 Post Graduate students. Our students are serving the society by occupying prominent positions in Corporate, Colleges, and Universities and also by their own business establishments. PG Programs:
Master of Commerce: Description: The two years’ Post Graduate course having four semesters, offered with three specialisations namely Accounting and Finance, Costing and Banking under ongoing system.
Under CBCS system four specialisations were offered from the first semester itself viz; Accounting and Finance, Costing and Taxation, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management, Banking and Insurance.

Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce: Description: This course is offered as Part time and full time with subject specialisation in commerce namely Accounting, Finance, Marketing, HRM, Banking, Insurance, Taxation etc.,
Dr S.B. Akash has been in teaching since 1995 to till the date and presently working as Professor. Nine doctoral degrees were produced, out of which two were foreign scholars. More than 100 research papers were published in reputed professional journals. Two major research projects were completed. More than 80 research papers were presented in national and international seminars. Organized few national seminars and workshops, delivered few invited talks in national seminars and many special lectures and also Chaired technical session in few national and international seminars. Dr. B. S. Navi, Professor Prof. B. S. Navi, Completed his post-graduation and doctoral degree from the Karnataka Univesity, Dharwad. He served as Principal at MES Islamiya Arts and Commerce College, Belagavi. Later he got appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at DMS Mandal’s Bhaurao Kakatkar College, Belagavi and took the additional charge of NSS programme officer and Coordinator of PG Department of Commerce. In the year 2013, he got an appointment at Rani Channamma University as Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce. He served as Local Head, Department of PG Studies in Commerce and then as Director at Rani Channamma University, Post Graduate Centre, Vachanasangama Torvi, Vijayapur. He worked as Principal at Rani Channamma University, Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College, Belagavi. Presently working as Professor and Chairman, Department of Commerce and NSS Coordinator, RCU Belagavi. He is a research guide in the department of commerce and has published more than 55 articles in various international and national journals of repute. He is an author of Auditing and Costing Accounting, Techniques of Costing, Financial Accounting-I and II for B.Com and BBA students. Dr. Sachindra G. R. is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. Besides, he is also serving as the Assistant Registrar in the Examination section and Assistant Registrar and Nodal Officer for the Right to Information Cell of the University. Hailing from an agricultural family in Shivamogga District, he had his early education in different Institutions in Shivamogga District. He procured his M.Com. Degree in 2010 from Kuvempu University with first class and Ninth Rank, and received a Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in Accounting and Taxation. He was qualified for National Eligibility Test and Junior Research Fellowship when he was in the fourth semester of M.Com. He has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce by Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. He started his teaching career as Lecturer at Kuvempu University in 2010. Dr. Ashwini M. Jamuni hails from U. Khanapur of Hukkeri Taluka, Belagavi. She has obtained Bachelor and Master degrees in Commerce (with distinction) from Karnatak University, Dharwad in the year 2008 and 2010 respectively. She has cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) in December-2010. Mrs. Ashwini M. Jamuni has started her career in the year 2010 as a teaching Assistant atthe Department of Commerce, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. Later, she has joined the same department as a Assistant Professor in the year 2012.She has a rich academic career. Manjunatha K. is working as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Studies in Commerce, Rani Channamma University PG centre, Vachanasangama, Toravi, Vijayapur, from January 2012.
