Prof. Chandrika K.B Dr. Chandrika completed her post graduation and Awarded Ph.D. at Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka.. Having 26 years teaching in Sociology, she is currently serving as the professor and chair person in the Dept of Sociology and as the Director Student Welfare and Academic Council Member Ranichannamma University. Held many positions in the University as the Dean, School of Social Sciences, Former Syndicate Member, Member, Academic Council member, Deputy Registrar, Evaluation and Deputy Registrar administration (Add charge), Programme Coordinator, N.S.S. Cell, and also acted as the Founding Secretary of Women Empowerment Cell of Ranichannamma University Belagavi.
Her Areas of specialization are Gender studies (Women Empowerment), Marginalized & Weaker Sections, Research Methodology. 8 students are awarded Ph.D and 4 in M.Phil’s under her guidance. She has published 24 international, 08 national and 3 books and 9 articles in edited books and presented more than 85 research papers in national and International Conferences. Completed the U.G.C, S.A.P., D.R.S-I. Programme on “Public Health Engineering” in the Department of sociology, Karnatak University Dharwad. Worked in Research Project funded by I C.S.S.R and as investigator in the Audience Research Unit, Doordarshan Kendra Bangalore. Worked as the joint secretary of Karnataka Sociology Association. and acted as the convener of Research Committees organized by KSA, for the conferences
Visited Abroad in 2019 to Yokohama, Japan sponsored by ICSSR New Delhi, Vienna Austria in 2016 and Toronto Canada, in 2018 to present the research papers, in the International Sociological Association, World Congress of Sociology and in ISA Forum of Sociology. Received Savitribai Phule Award, by Manava Bhandutva Vedike, and honoured with the Certificate of Appreciation, for outstanding contribution in the proven field of expertise by the University. Actively participated in Various cultural activities and organized many workshops, orientation programmes , Health awareness Camps. Dr. Chandrika has great concern and involvement in looking into the problems of women and capacity building efforts. She has blended academics with activism on Gender related issues and working for the cause of social wellbeing.

Dr. Sumanth S. Hiremath is faculty in the Dept. of Sociology, RCUB. He has completed his graduation from K.L.E.S’s Lingaraj College, Belagavi; Post Graduation in Sociology from Karnatak University (Belgaum Campus); Ph.D. from Karnatak University, Dharwad & has qualified SET. He has 14 years of Teaching & Research Experience (As on 31-07-2020).

His research areas are ‘Elite Studies’, ‘Higher Education’, ‘ICT & Contemporary Indian Society’, ‘Elderly & Gender Studies’; ‘Environment & Urban Issues’. He is currently doing ‘Minor Research Project’ funded by RCUB.

He has presented 101 Research Papers at National/ International Conferences/ Seminars and has delivered about 27 Special Lectures across India and 01 abroad at International Institute of Peace & Development Studies, Bangkok.

He has organised 02 National Seminars and 01 International Webinar.
Dr. Sumanth has written 02 Books & Co-edited 02 Books. He has published 50 Research Papers in National/ International Reputed Journals/ Edited Books. He is associated as ‘Associate Editor’, ‘Journal Reviewer’, & ‘Editorial Board Member’ to various National/ International Journals of repute. He had academic abroad visit to Toronto, Canada; Bangkok, Thailand and New York.

He is ‘Member’ for academic bodies: ‘Doctoral Committee’, ‘BoS’ & ‘BoE’ to RCUB and other Universities. He is ‘Vice-Secretary’ for Karnataka Sociology Association. He is associated as ‘Life Member’ of professional bodies: ‘International Sociological Association’, ‘Indian Sociological Society’, ‘Karnataka Sociology Association’, ‘Association of Gerontology’ and ‘Indian Red Cross Society’. He is ‘Academic Member’ of ‘Athens Institute for Education & Research, Athens. Greece.

Dr. Sumanth, known for his social service & student mentoring activities, has additionally served as ‘Nodal Officer’ and currently serving as ‘Coordinator’ for ‘Youth Red Cross’, RCUB and ‘Executive Member’ for Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch, Belagavi.
